TBG International has commenced a feasibility study to assess the establishment of a substantial sovereign defence manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom. The study will evaluate the technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements for building and operating a UK-based production facility to support domestic and allied defence requirements.

The United Kingdom’s ability to produce critical defence materials domestically is a matter of strategic national importance. Decades of underinvestment and consolidation have left the UK defence industrial base with limited capacity in areas that are fundamental to national security and to the country’s commitments within NATO. This feasibility study represents a direct response to that challenge.

The study encompasses site assessment, facility design, regulatory and environmental permitting, supply chain analysis, workforce planning, and financial modelling. TBG International is leading the programme, establishing a clear pathway toward capital investment and facility construction.

Building sovereign manufacturing capability is core to TBG International’s mission. The company believes that a strong, resilient UK defence industrial base is not just a commercial opportunity but a strategic national asset, and that the companies willing to invest in building that capability are the ones that will define the next generation of British defence industry.

“The UK needs sovereign capacity to produce the critical materials that underpin its defence supply chain. We are not waiting for someone else to build it. This feasibility study is the first step, and we intend to see it through to a facility that strengthens UK national security for decades to come.” – Alex Moreton, Chief Executive Officer at TBG International

TBG International’s sovereign manufacturing capability spans facility design, production line commissioning, technology transfer, and long-term industrial sustainability planning. The company’s approach is to deliver enduring industrial capability that strengthens the United Kingdom’s defence industrial base and reduces strategic dependency on foreign supply chains.
